2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the EatSeeDance Service
• Authenticate your identity and manage your account
• Personalize your experience and deliver relevant place recommendations
• Power Kayla, our AI concierge, using anonymized conversation context
• Process and display user-submitted reviews, photos, and place listings
• Send transactional communications (e.g., account verification, password reset)
• Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve the Service
• Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or security issues
• Comply with legal obligations

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

• With service providers: We share data with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the Service, including Firebase (authentication), Cloudinary (photo storage), Anthropic (AI features), Stripe (payment processing), and Supabase (database hosting). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
• Publicly visible content: Reviews, ratings, photos, and display names you submit may be visible to other users of the Service.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of EatSeeDance, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers: If EatSeeDance is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Location Data

The "Near Me" feature uses your device's location to show nearby places. Location access is optional and only activated when you explicitly enable it. We do not store your precise location history. Location data is used in real time to generate results and is not shared with third parties for advertising purposes.

5. Kayla AI Concierge

Kayla is powered by Anthropic's Claude AI. Conversations with Kayla are processed through our backend servers and sent to Anthropic's API. We do not store full conversation histories on our servers beyond the current session. Please do not share sensitive personal information (such as financial data or passwords) in conversations with Kayla. Anthropic's use of data is governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at legal@eatseedance.com. We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication via Firebase, and access controls on our databases. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

8. Children's Privacy

EatSeeDance is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at legal@eatseedance.com and we will delete such information.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

Place and location data is sourced in part from OpenStreetMap, made available under the Open Database License (ODbL). Use of OpenStreetMap data is subject to the OpenStreetMap copyright and license terms.

We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by sending an email notification.
